Abstract
Materials Management (MM) is expected to deal effectively with suitable
control tools as it can guide and encourage appropriately the
production, planning, and control activities. MM plays a vital role in
overall performance of any organization. Predominantly, in coal
industry it is a pre requisite to making profit in today’s complex business
world. The present paper is a modest attempt to discuss the importance
of Materials Management and the managerial practices of coal
companies with relation to material with an upshot of SCCL as a case
problem.
