| Abstract | ‘Heritage Tourism’ as a recognized industry is a modern development. Tourism which is based on heritage where heritage is core of the product that is offered and heritage is the main motivating factor for the consumer. India, specially Madhya Pradesh offers a number of natural, cultural and heritage attractions for tourists. Form the ancient times, this part of the country has been the centre for art and culture. Shivpuri is one of the important place for tourist attractions. There are various weaknesses and problems like lack of integrated leadership, lack of public education and awareness, uneven quality in site, a restoration and interpretation, inadequate visitor service infrastructure and lack of aggressive marketing. In this paper an attempt has been made to focus on some of the emerging issues of resource interpretation and sustainable planning and strengthening of the heritage tourism of Shivpuri of Madhya Pradesh which is prime concerned. |
